Romain Chassaing's latest film for Winamax, Race To The Moon continues the cinematic visual universe he established in 2023 with the film Winning Is Everything once again immersing the viewer in the world of gambling.
This new work plunges us into a fantastical and offbeat universe where the conquest of space becomes a popular competition, organized and filmed like a soccer match. Each team, with its unique identity, sports distinct uniforms and uses specific equipment: we discover the gypsy team, which transforms scrap metal carcasses into an overpowered cannon; the clan of firefighters, launched aboard their legendary red truck turned improvised rocket; the team of super geeks, led by a completely unhinged professor; or even the gang of Japanese chefs, who propel their champion from a fish-cannon mounted on a food truck. Not to mention the mad inventor, catapulted from the roof of his lab with a cannon cobbled together from leather and wood.
The competition is broadcast live from Earth and relayed by the media. This spectacular piece, with its influences drawn from Hollywood blockbusters, captures the raw, visceral energy of competition, all carried once again by the masterful cinematography of Matias Boucard.
